Jason Arik Roberts

August 9, 1971 ~ July 16, 2024 (age 52)

Jason Arik Roberts came into this world on August 9, 1971, in Dallas, Texas, in the most unfavorable conditions and survived with an amazing triumph. Jason was and continued to overcome major medical conditions until his passing on July 16, 2024, at the young age of 52.

Jason was such a light and beacon of kindness with his forever young personality. Jason touched the heart of almost everyone he came into contact with and made so many changes in people which made him so special.

Jason graduated from ED Walker High School Special Needs in Dallas, TX. Shortly after he moved to Sulphur Springs, Texas in 1993 with his mom, dad and sister. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs and part of the special needs class in the church. In 2020, he moved with his mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law and niece to Mt. Vernon, Texas where they could all live together in one home to allow for them all to care for his increasing needs.

Jason enjoyed time with family and friends, he loved to go many places and just being around people, talking to people, and watching people. His humor would have you laughing at yourself before you knew it. His best times were at large family gatherings where he was always center of attention. Our entire family and extended family adored Jason. Jason loved all his pets as if they were his children, he was a big fan of Marvel and DC superheroes, game nights with the family, of course he always won, he thoroughly enjoyed his county scenic rides with mom and dad, western movies, and political shows with dad, and oh yes, he especially loved his hamburgers & french fries, but of all these things he loved, he especially loved and adored his Momma.

Jason was one of the first five special needs adults to be a part of the “Our Place” Dayhab in Sulphur Springs, TX and that experience with Our Place was his favorite daily outing in his time there. The people who worked with him were a blessing to him and his family. Some became lifelong friends who would come and visit Jason at home throughout the rest of his life.

Jason is survived by both his parents, Donald Ray Roberts and Barbara (Bobbye) Sue Roberts, his sister, Christa Lynn Neal and brother-in-law, Jeramiah Mitchell Neal. He is also survived by his nephew, Tyler Dalton Neal, and his great niece, Aurora Faye Neal and his niece, Lydia Jade Neal. Jason is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends.

Jason was our world and we are going to forever miss his shining Smile.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Jason at The Roberts Residence (291 County Road NE 2045, Mt. Vernon, Texas 75457) from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
