Funeral services for Cecilia Anderson of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 10:00am with Pastor Mark Elliott officiating. Interment will be at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 3:00pm and visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at West Oaks Funeral Home.

Cecilia passed away at her residence in Sulphur Springs on August, 23, 2024. Mrs. Anderson was born on January 31, 1929, in Dallas, Texas to Fred and Lillian(Schlottman) Drees. She was raised in Dallas, the youngest of two sisters and one brother.

Cecilia attended John F. Peeler Elementary School and Adamson High School and graduated in 1946. She worked at Simplicity Pattern Company and the phone company in downtown Dallas and made many friends. She met Kenneth Anderson through his sister, who also worked at the phone company and married him on October 16, 1948. She was a life long Lutheran and member of Grace Lutheran Church in Dallas where Kenneth joined when they married. Cecilia served on many committees and volunteered many hours at the church and school. She worked at Stokley Van Camp and Montgomery Wards in the office in Dallas, Charlton Hospital in Duncanville and retired from Hunt Regional Hospital in Greenville, Texas. Kenneth and Cecilia moved from Dallas to Sulphur Springs in 1978. They joined Our Savior Lutheran Church and continued their dedication to serve the Lord. She enjoyed the Quilters at church and the Sulphur Springs Quilters Guild. She was always available to cook for events held at church. Cecilia adored her family and cherished having the family reunions in her home.

She is preceded in death by Kenneth, her loving husband, her parents and sisters, Helen Harman and Pauline Becher and brother, Fred Drees, Jr. Cecilia is survived by her children, Melvin (Judy) Anderson, Paula (Bennie) Lowery, and Brad (Loretta) Anderson. Grandchildren, Chad (Stacy) Anderson, Lindsey (Josh) Pitman, Charlie (Tacy) Sager, Christy (Jim) Hannigan, Kayla (Payton) Jones, Cassidy Anderson and Don Owens. Great-grandchildren, Samantha Porter, Matthew Anderson, Aubri, McKenna and Brylee Pitman, Christien (Coley), Kelsie and Carson Sager, and Kylie and Cody Stevens, great-great grandchildren, Beckham, Nolen and Sutton Sager.
