Kermes 2024 at St. James Catholic Church

Here are some things to know about kermes. The purpose of Kermes are usually held to raise money for the church. The money raised can help with things like replacing plumbing, toilets, or railing around the church. Kermes often feature a variety of food, such as tacos, elote, churros, raspas, pupusas, tamales, flautas, tres leches, and flan.

Kermes are usually held outdoors. Some parishes have found that moving their kermes to the fall makes it easier for people to attend because of the weather
