Rain Yes, But 90 Degree Temps to Return

September 12, 2024 – Hopkins County received much needed rain Wednesday night, though accumulation only reached 0.2 – 0.8″ in most places.

This is hardly enough to make a real difference in the dry condition typical of this time of year. The forcast show a general warming trend with highs in the low to middle 90’s once again by the weekend. No significant rain is forecast.

Continue to water young plants and trees to make sure you investment does not die. Check the quality of water in ponds that livestock use.

Be wary of burning. A burn ban is still a possibility.

A simple watering rig, and a few gallon a week, can make all the difference for young trees and plants.
