Stanford was born on November 30, 1940, in Marquette County, Michigan, to Edwin and Toni Anderson (Nuermi). He worked as a rancher in the beef industry. Stanford was also a veteran; he served as a Marine. He enjoyed raising cattle and ranching and baling his own hay. Stanford enjoyed spending time with family and his livestock.
He is survived by his son, Michael Anderson, and wife Billie of Paris, Texas; grandchildren Jacie Anderson and Mylee Anderson; sister Kathy Anderson of Maryland; two nieces and grandnieces.
Stanford was preceded in death by his parents.
