Missing an Amazon Package? Check Abandoned Lots and Wooded Areas
January 8, 2025 – It is no secret that delivering for the world’s largest online retailer is stressful. With ‘brutal quotas’ and threats of being fired, some drivers appear to be cracking under the pressure.
Recent reports of Amazon packages being dumped in an abandoned lot in Montgomery, TX, and a similar incident in Lakeville, MA where close to 80 packages were dumped, appears to be the result of ‘stress’. Of course, these incidents involve a tiny fraction of all delivery drivers employed.
For years Amazon drivers have been complaining about the lack of restrooms, and the lack of time to use them as well. ‘Peeing in bottles’ has become a thing some driver do to make it through the day. Lawsuits in several states have been filed against Amazon for ‘brutal quotas’.
If you find a dumped or abandoned package, your urged to report them to the carrier with as much detail as possible, which could help investigators trace the origin and prevent future occurrences.
An Amazon spokesperson also said local police have also been alerted and are looking into potential leads.
