Kendrick “Daddy” Polk, born August 22, 1965, in Sulphur Springs. He is the son of Elizabeth Polk and Michael Don Lewis. He is the grandson of Audrey and Gladys Johnson and George and Bethona Lewis, the latter of whom have passed away. Kendrick graduated from Sulphur Springs High School as part of the Class of 1983.
Kendrick was a remarkable individual whose joyful spirit, honesty, and selflessness shone through in every aspect of his life. His deep love for family and friends was evident in the way he devoted time to them, whether it was fishing, tinkering with his truck, binge-watching “Swamp Thing,” or enjoying family outings. Truly one of a kind, Kendrick’s genuine nature and passion for life will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
Kendrick’s legacy of love and cherished memories will live on through his devoted wife, Jacqueline Jackson Polk, their three children— Daeleon Moore, Jada Foster, and Ibn Muhammad (Nadia)—as well as his grandchildren, Jayliee, Delaney, Jameson Foster, and Nylah Muhammad, who will forever hold him in their hearts.
The family includes siblings Lester Henley (married to Janice), Mary Johnson (Earl), Johnna Clayton, and Octus Polk, along with a number of nieces and nephews: Derrick Henley (married to Shae), Chester Henley (married to Rachel), and others including Arin Henley, Demarcus Johnson, Kaneisha Johnson, Jacqueline Clayton, Brian Clayton, and Roderick Clayton. One living Aunt, Bettye Walker of New Boston, Texas.
