Laura Jean “Jeannie” Barrett

Funeral service will be held at Elm Baptist Church at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, August 24, 2019. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the service in the Elm Cemetery. Bro. Robert Burns will officiate the service. The family has entrusted the arrangements of their loved one to Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home. They will conduct Jeannie’s service.

Jeannie was born on October 27, 1947, in Sulphur Springs, to the parentage of Woodrow Carson and Wanda Maureen Yarborough Asbill.

Jeannie has been a life long member of Elm Baptist Church, where she loved to sing and fellowship with her friends. She was always a hard worker. She graduated from Rains High School Class of 1968. Upon achieving her certification as Nurse Aide, she worked in several nursing facilities. Jeannie also worked as a private sitter with people in their homes. She was a very good caregiver because she put her heart into her work. “Granny” loved her granddaughter, Lilly, and looked forward to her visits. Jeannie loved everyone, and everyone loved her in return. She will truly be missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elm Cemetery Association c/o Linda Terry, 1350 RCR 3425, Brashear, TX 75420.
