Sulphur Springs High School Band members earned 34 First Division Medals at Regional Solo
and Ensemble competition Friday at Texas A&M Commerce. There were 23 First Division solo
medals and 11 First Division ensemble medals. Gillan Boyer on marimba qualified for state by
making First Division and playing his music from memory. 11 students in three ensembles did the
same to qualify for state.
