Work Begins Feb. 23 on US 69 in Rains County

PARIS – Motorists who frequently travel on US 69 in Rains County near Emory, Texas, should be on the alert for road construction beginning Feb. 23.

That is the date for contractor DL Lennon to begin rehabilitating a portion of that roadway. The work will extend from just north of the intersection of US 69 and FM 3299 southward to the intersection of FM 515 and US 69. The contractor should be able to complete this work in 159 working days, at an estimated cost of more than $4.6 million.

The contractor will perform spot repairs on the roadway base, replace or add safety treatments to parallel drainage structures, widen the existing pavement with a cement-treated base, and install a hot mix pavement overlay. Crews will also extend or add safety treatments to existing cross drainage structures.

TxDOT officials ask motorists and other travelers to drive to existing road conditions, obey all traffic controls, and be prepared for some short delays while this work is underway.
