Game Day Update 02/22/15
Turnabout is fair play. After suffering several 1-0 defeats in district games, the Wildcats defeated Marshall 1-0 on the road Friday night. Adrian Lopez scored the goal after an indirect kick. The Wildcats improve to 3-5 in district play. They travel to Mt. Pleasant Tuesday night. (B)
Lady Cats Soccer Coach Jesus DeLeon is a believer in a team playing a game like they practice. After an excellent couple of days of practice, the Lady Cats dominated Marshall 6-0 at Prim Stadium Friday night. The Lady Cats, 4-4 in district, host Mt. Pleasant Tuesday night. (A)
Hot softball bats carried the Lady Cats to two wins in the Sulphur Springs Tournament Saturday. The Lady Cats had 16 hits including a Kasey Moore home run in a 13-5 win over Princeton. The Lady Cats had 20 hits in a 16-5 victory over Mineola. The Lady Cats are 4-1. They play in a Lindale tournament Thursday through Saturday. (B)
With scrimmages behind them, the Wildcats’ baseball team opens their regular season with games in a Tyler Lee tournament this week. The Wildcats will play games Thursday through Saturday. (A)
The Wildcats and Lady Cats’ track teams open their season by hosting their own Sulphur Springs Meet Friday. It begins at 4 p.m. at the High School Track.
