Miller Grove News 03/20/15 by Brandon Darrow

Spring is around the corner folks! Just this week the oak trees have began showing a little bit of green on what will soon turn in to leaves.

Friday morning (Mar. 20) will be a KSST radio interview for Gail Garmon, Lewis Watts, and myself. Enola Gay Matthews will be interviewing us on the historical marker we have obtained from the state for County Line School. Please remember to mark your calendars to attend the unveiling ceremony for the marker. We have a good program lined up. The service will be held Sunday, Apr. 12, at 2 pm, at County Line Church. After a short program there will be refreshments in the church’s Family Life Center.

Congratulations to Demi Weatherford (daughter of Amanda May) and Ashley Purser (daughter of Robyn Flecker) who each caught a calf when MG FFA was at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Ashley also received 4th place with her Brangus heifer.

Baseball season is underway at MGHS. I’m not sure if the girls have a softball team but I know I saw the boys playing the other afternoon when I passed the field.

Happy Birthday this week to Linell (Barrett) Woods on Mar. 16; Fran Sparks, Joe Weatherly, Jenny (Weatherford) Arledge, & Ginger McCreight on Mar. 18; and Krystal Petty on Mar. 20.

Happy 37th Anniversary to my parents, Brett and Lynda Darrow, on Mar. 18.

As you travel the highways and byways don’t forget that all roads lead back home and back to Miller Grove. Please let me know if you have any newsworthy information. My email address is [email protected].
