The sign at Celebration Plaza says it all. Saturday Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County were placed under a tornado watch at 1:15 p.m. The watch was to end at 9 p.m. Saturday. At approximately 5:20 p.m. a dangerous thunderstorm was noted on KSST radar and shortly after, the National Weather Service issued a Thunderstorm Warning for the county in the Brashear area. Minutes later, a tornado warning was issued for the northeastern corner of Hopkins County, southeaster Delta County, and northern Franklin County until 6 p.m. Hail was noted around Sulphur Bluff by radar as well.
A resident of Sulphur Springs also sent KSST two pictures of a cloud that passed over their neighborhood.
