A Celebration of Life for the family of William Loyd Higgins, age 89, of Yantis, TX will be held on Saturday March 26th at Grove Hill Memorial Park at 12pm in Dallas, TX. Reverend Stephen Higgins will be officiating. William passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs, TX.
He was born the son of Otis Herman Higgins and Laura Mae Sorrow Higgins in Miller Grove, TX on December 24, 1932. William was a Navy veteran and a machinist at Gardner Denver before he retired. He loved fishing, hunting and being with his family, whether it was at a family gathering or attending school sporting events to watch his Grandkids.
Survivors include: children: James William Higgins (wife Cindy) and Thomas Andrew Higgins (wife Lisa); brothers: CW Higgins and Mike Higgins (wife Sandy); sisters: Sue Dicken and Margaret Greer (husband Richard); and sister-in-law Charlene Higgins; grandchildren: Stephen Blaine Higgins (wife Amber) and Stephanie Barbara Higgins (husband Logan); great grandchild: Baylen Rose Higgins; step-children: Lisa Dyanne Higgins (husband Thomas) and Julie Ann Green (husband JR); step-grandchildren: Bryan Green, Maggie Green (fiance Evan), Brandon Simpson, Kristine Hartin (husband Justin), Jennifer Hiller Fulton and Rexx Flood; great step-grandchildren: KaeLee Rae Green, Reid Hartin and Jessika Fulton, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Otis and Laura Higgins; first wife: Harlene “Mitzi” Higgins; second wife: Lady Higgins; step-son: Kevin Michael Hogue; brother: OH Higgins; brother-in-law: JR Dicken, and sister-in-law: Charlotte Higgins.
In lieu of flower, memorial donations may be made to one of his favorite charities, the Humane Society of the United States (www.hsus.org).
