March 13, 2023- Hopkins County Commissioners Court commemorates Lonnie Fox for his work as the Sulphur Springs Civic Center manager by awarding him a plaque for his service to the community. Lonnie will be retiring after four years as the manager of the Civic Center.
The new interim manager will be Alina Sanders, who previously was the assistant manager, giving Alina a advantage on her future tasks as manager. Sanders and Fox were hired around the same time four years ago to the Civic Center, sharing management responsibilities. Alina also expressed her excitement for the new position and her excitement to continue working with all her coworkers to help keep the Civic Center running in its best shape ever. Alina expressed her gratitude to the Commissioners Court as well as the Civic Center Board Of Directors for allowing her to further her work within the Civic Center.
Alina also announced a few of the upcoming events for the Civic Center. These events are:
- East Texas DIY Wedding Expo March 18 from 10 pm to 5pm
- Horseman’s Association of Texoma Horse Show March 18
- Region 4 Rodeo – March 24-26
- Red River Welsh Ponies – March 31-April 2
- Hunt County Horseman’s Association – April 7-8
