Diana Smith, age 79, of Sulphur Springs passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab. Mrs. Smith will be lying in state at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home beginning at 10 am on Friday, March 24 till 5 pm and then again on Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 4pm and Monday, March 26 th from 8am to 5pm. There will be no formal service or visitation.
Mary Diana was born on September 30, 1943 in Sulphur Springs, to Robert P and Georgia (Poole) Bailey. She married Murry Smith in Birthright on August 18, 1984. Diana was a loving mother and wife. She loved to visit with her cousins, who were like sisters to her. She will always be remembered for her great food, as she was the best cook. Being outdoors was her favorite place and fishing was her passion.
She is survived by her husband, Murry; sons, Jeff Harrinton, Kevin (Kay) Harrington, Roger (Michele) James Jr, David (Patricia) James; grandchildren, Joshua (Staci) Harrington, Kali Harrington, Michael (Julie) James, Amanda James, Amanda Ellis, Vivian Beasley; great grandchildren, Brody Cox, Bailey Harrington, Mack Harrington, Nicholas James, Mila James, Maddison Ellis; cousins, Edna Potts, Katena McCord.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Harold Bailey; grandson, Robert Castleberry.
