Morris Arrested During Traffic Stop
September 20, 2023 – James Michael Morris, Jr was arrested by Sulphur Spring Police on Tuesday this week. The arrest took place around 1pm.
Sulphur Springs police were on routine patrol near the intersection of I-30 and Helm Lane. They notice a Chevrolet Pickup traveling at a high rate of speed.
A traffic stop was initiated. Morris showed signs of nervousness when contacted. Officers asked for permission to search the vehicle and Morris allegedly granted permission.
Allegedly, a glass pipe of the kind used to smoke methamphetamine, and a bag containing methamphetamine was located in the vehicle. Morris was arrested and transported to Hopkins County Jail. The truck was released to his mother.
Morris is charged with possession of a controlled substance.
