A memorial service to celebrate Vallie’s remarkable life will be held on November 18th at Clover Hill Baptist Church 1816 FM 69, Quitman, TX 75783 at 10:30 AM. The service will provide an opportunity for family and friends to come together and share their fond memories of a remarkable woman who left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
Vallie Hardgrave, of Quitman, Texas, passed away on November 2, 2023, at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab in Sulphur Springs, TX. She was born in Tyler Texas to her loving parents, Franklin and Doris Kelly. Vallie had a deep-rooted passion for collecting antiques throughout her life and was a dedicated Master Gardner, showcasing her love for cultivating the beauty of the natural world. Her expertise in these areas were unmatched. In addition to her love for antiques, Vallie was an accomplished crafter, creating beautiful and intricate pieces that brought joy to those who received them. She poured her creativity and love into every project, leaving a lasting legacy of her artistic talents. Her love and zest for life shone brightly in her warm and vibrant personality and her enthusiasm was contagious. She was the life of the party, bringing joy and laughter wherever she went.
Vallie is survived by her life partner, Rodger Sykora, children, Darla Morris and Darin McCoy, her brother Eddie Kelly, her sister Donna Kelly, nine grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents, her husband, Johnnie Hardgrave, and her brother, Frank Kelly Jr.
