Jacob Boatman

Funeral service for Jacob Boatman, age 38 of Pickton, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday January 6, 2024 at Shannon Oaks Church with Nolen Butler and Jeff Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Forest Cemetery with Dean Draper, Dawson Draper, Bradley Wallace, Dustin Brundage, Will Smartt, and Monte Gibson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Journey Road boys, John Cooper, Justin Cooper, Seth Poteet, Cory Horton, Trey Clark, Brody Clark, Chase Tarrant, and Jeremy Tarrant. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2024 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Jacob passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

Jacob Heath Boatman was born April 24, 1985 in Sulphur Springs to Toby and Sandy Boatman. After graduating high school, Jacob went to play college baseball for Pratt Community College and Emporia State University in Kansas. He married Ashten Williams in Pine Forest on October 11, 2007. Jacob worked in the family business, Toby Boatman Garage Doors. In his free time, Jacob loved to be outdoors whether it was hunting with his family, fishing with the many kids who adored him or playing with his dogs in the yard while his wife sat watching them.

Jacob is survived by his wife, Ashten Boatman; children, Emma Boatman, Aubrey Boatman, and bonus blessing, Baby T-Rex; parents, Toby and Sandy Boatman; brother, Ethan Boatman and wife, Victoria; grandfather, Gene Boatman and wife, Julia; and nieces and nephews, Brock, Charlie, Brady, Lynnlee, Aslynn, Bayler, Brett, Brayden, and Trigger.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Jimmie Clark, Gwen Boatman and great-grandparents, Leta York, Edna and Tolbert Boatman.
