The funeral service for Christie Fyke, age 51, of Cumby, Texas, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Pastor Norman Carson officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Cory Bowen, Joey Gammons, David Fyke, Richard Pennington, Garrett Jackson, and Jeremy Burton. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 30, 2024. Christie Fyke passed away on January 25, 2024, at Christus Mother Frances Hospital of Sulphur Springs, Texas.
Christie was born to Richard Fyke and Wanda (Burton) Clampitt on July 28, 1972, in Commerce, Texas. She was a devoted member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church where she worked as a church secretary and ran the children’s nursery.
She is survived by her spouse, Jason Oxford of Cumby, Texas; daughters, Mackenzie Fyke and Jacelyn Oxford of Cumby, Texas; parents, Wanda and Charlie Clampitt of Cumby, Texas; sister, Mistie Colfax of Cumby, Texas; brothers, David Fyke of Cumby, Texas, Chuck Clampitt of Duncan, Oklahoma, Kenny Clampitt of Duncan, Oklahoma; grandmother, Yvonne Fyke of Cumby, Texas; grandchildren, Ryder Fyke and Gracelyn Goff; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Fyke was preceded in death by her father, Richard Fyke; and brother, Chad Clampitt.
