James DeJarneatt

A Graveside Service for James Dejarneatt will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Lake Fork Cemetery with Mark Adams officiating.

James DeJarneatt was born in Crowell, TX on September 18, 1948, and started his next adventure with GOD on February 4, 2024.

James is preceded in death by his Father Fred DeJarneatt, Mother Nora DeJarneatt, and sister Jolene DeJarneatt.

He is survived by his brother Freddie DeJarneatt & spouse Linda, sister Brenda Draughon & spouse Terry, brother Carl DeJarneatt & spouse Lynn, and brother Thomas DeJarneatt. James is also survived by his daughter Jamie Burwell & spouse Jake, his son Jason DeJarneatt, and daughter Jana DeJarneatt & spouse Troy.

James was blessed to have several grandchildren: Jacob Burwell & spouse Paige, Hannah Woodard & spouse Nick, Mark Naglich II, Rebekah “Q” Schoepf, Breanna DeJarneatt, Jacqueline Hager, & Bobby DeJarneatt. As well as 3 beautiful great grandchildren: Lilith Woodard, Jaxson Woodard, & Magnolia Burwell.

And James was loved dearly by several nieces & nephews.

James was a simple man. He enjoyed the smaller things in life. It brought him joy to help his brothers & sister with yard work, home repairs, or any job needing to be done. He enjoyed watching movies, especially Harry Potter, taking care of Susie, and tinkering around his house.

James retired around 2006 from being a Maintenance Mechanic in the Dallas area when he moved to Sulphur Springs to be closer to his mom. While his kids were growing up he liked to spend time with them racing dirt bikes, taking them to Six Flags, 4×4 mudding with the whole family, hiking, & camping. He was also known to be a jokester and prankster. He would hide the younger kids’ shoes up on the blades of the ceiling fan or house & tap you on one shoulder while he was on the other side of you. And the ole mystery of the disappearing toilet paper will forever go unknown, for that is the only thing he took to his grave.

He is & will be missed dearly and is loved very much.
