Funeral services for Claude “Andy” Andrew Jennings, Jr. age 79, of Rowlett, TX will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rusty Jennings officiating and Ricky Jennings assisting. Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery with Justin Gibson, Brennan Gibson, Colton Gibson, Brandon Gibson, Dawson Alt, Connor Cook, Mason Mock, Josh Barnes and Shannon Jennings serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at West Oaks Funeral Home.
Andy passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 30, 1944 in Lubbock, TX, the son of Claude Atkins Jennings and Buena D. McLeroy Jennings. He married Sherry Elaine Harris on September 27, 1986 in Rockwall, TX. Andy worked for Texas Aluminum for over 22 years and Tyson Quick to Fix for over 21 years. He was a member of Chaple Hill Baptist Church. Andy was a gun enthusiast and an avid hunter and knife collector.
In addition to his wife, Sherry, he is survived by sons, Christopher Jennings of Bonham, Michael Foster and wife Annette of Garland, daughters, Jana Gibson of Wylie, Cecilia Mock and husband Ross of Caddo Mills, Misty Cook of Cooper and Betsy Alt and husband Jon of Rowlett, brothers, Cecil Jennings, Bobby Jennings and wife Cindy and Phillip Jennings, 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Aubrey Jennings, Earl Jennings, Marshall Jennings and Truman Jennings, sister, Helen Grenshaw, and one granddaughter.
