April 11, 2024 – April 15th falls on a Monday this year, just one week after darkness fell across a large swath of Texas from the solar eclipse. The dreaded Tax Day can be a dark day for many taxpayers as they finalize their taxes and realize they owe more money to the Internal Revenue Service. But for some, it may be a pleasant surprise that they have a refund coming. April 15th is also the day to file for an “extension of time” to file your taxes, although you may be required to estimate what you owe and send that in along with your extension.
