Funeral service for Carolyn Cochran, age 73, of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Danny Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Carolyn passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 with her husband of 23 years and family by her side.
Carolyn Jean Cochran was born on December 31, 1950 in Mt. Vernon, TX to Joe and Ida Mae Ball. She married Neal Cockran on September 27, 2001. Neal and Carolyn were pasters of the Lighthouse Church in Sulphur Springs for 11 years and also had a Music ministry. Carolyn worked for Lees for several years, Borden in Sulphur Springs for 13 years, and Owens for 5 years before retiring. She then went on the road with her husband, where they drove a big rig truck across the country including Canada. When Neal retired, Carolyn became a Homemaker who loved dogs and cats. Carolyn was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of The Lighthouse Church – Rays of Hope in Sulphur Springs. She was a warrior for Christ, she had a prayer list and prayed over it every morning and every night.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Neal Cochran; sons, David Price, Dave Termine, both of Delaware; daughter, Michelle Maynard and husband Johhny of Sulphur Springs; sisters, Mary Jane Ball of Sulphur Springs, Barbie Crowton and husband Dale of Mt. Vernon; dog, Ginger; cat, Hazel; grandchildren, Dakota, Deanna, Madison, Blake, and Mason Maynard, Stephen Price; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ida Ball; stepmother, Dorothy (Granny) Ball; sister, Alice Brent.
