Funeral Service for Marilyn Baker will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at West Oaks Funeral Home. There will be a visitation on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at West Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will be on Monday, December 23, 2024, at DFW National Cemetery.

Marilyn Kay Baker, age 79, of Sulphur Springs, Texas passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024. Marilyn was born on May 1, 1945, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Denton and Opal Bailey, whom preceded her in death, as well as her sister, Maxine Willis and brother-in-law, John Willis and grandparents. Marilyn graduated from Wichita Falls High School. While attending El Centro college, she worked as a dispatcher for Dallas Police Department. After completing her criminal justice degree, she began her career with the Addison Police Department and officially retired in 2004, Marilyn met the love of her life, Joe Baker they married in 1981, She inherited two teenagers, Kenneth and Sherri. Years later they welcomed into the family a son-in-law, Kennan and daughter-in-law, Kristi, three grandkids, Holly, Whitney, and Ryan as well as three great-grandkids, Landen, Mia, and Logan. Marilyn loved to cook, read, shop and ride Harley’s with her husband. Over the years Marilyn and Joe raised fur babies, they loved each and everyone. Their first, Mandy was a beautiful boston terrier. Marilyn then adopted Winston, her first English bulldog and of course we cannot forget “Puddin”, if a parent could have a favorite, Puddin was it. She was a loving tenacious, sweet, sassy French bulldog, the perfect match for Marilyn.

Marilyn leaves behind her husband of 44 years, Joe Baker, her children, Kenneth Baker (Kristi) of Rowlett, Texas and Sherri Coggin (Kennan) of Peoria, Arizona. Grandchildren, Whitney Amber, Holly Tamisa, and Ryan Bailey, great-grandchildren, Landen, Mia, and Logen, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, sister-in-law, Kathy Mackey (Denny) and brother-in-law, Dusty Parsons.
