Funeral Services for Edna Johnson, age 70 of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Kendrick Wright, Kenneth Wright, Joe Mayberry, Sammie Wright, Shaka Johnson, Vernon Johnson, Ladarius Pryor and Ray Kieston Lee serving as pallbearers. No formal visitation.
Mrs. Johnson died on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 15, 1944, the daughter of Cleveland and Claudie Thomas Givens in Point, TX. She married Wesley Johnson, Jr., on August 22, 1965. He preceded her in death in 2013.
Survivors included: son, Phillip Johnson of Sulphur Springs; step-son, Vernon Johnson of Lancaster; sister, Ida Pryor of Point; brothers, Roger Thomas of Germany, Lynn Owens and Kenneth Owens, both of Point, TX; six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Rhonda Johnson.
