It’s Homecoming for the Wildcats and Friday night they welcome Whitehouse to Gerald Prim Stadium. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. Whitehouse comes in with a 2-1 record with wins over Hallsville and Chapel Hill and a loss last week to Carthage. The Wildcats are 1-2. They beat Sherman here, lost at Disney World to Seminole Ridge, Florida and lost last week at Paris. Whitehouse won last year’s game 66-21. Whitehouse has now won five in a row in the series. Wildcats Coach Greg Owens, in his eleventh year at Sulphur Springs, is 5-7 versus Whitehouse as coach here. Adam Cook is in his fourth year as Whitehouse Coach. Coach Owens says this game has been a hot rivalry game in years past but it’s cooled down considerably the past few years. We’ll have all the game action for you Friday night on KSST radio. We will also videotape the game for replay on Channel 18 on Suddenlink Cable Sunday night at 8 p.m. and Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
Meanwhile the Lady Cats’ volleyball team is hoping to rack up another district win Friday at home as they host Greenville in Wildcats Gym. Game time for the varsity is 4:30 p.m. on this Homecoming Friday game day. Freshmen and JV games will be played after the varsity match. The Lady Cats are 1-1 in district and 22-8 overall.
Finally, the Wildcats and Lady Cats’ cross country teams are running at a Hallsville meet Friday.
