Funeral Service for Wanda Louise Fairchild Collins, age 80, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Lee Huff officiating. Interment will follow at Emblem Cemetery with Tim Lummus, Chris Lummus, Christopher Skeen Jr., Charles Hodges, Adam Hodges and Eddie Pierce serving as pallbearers and Christopher Skeen Sr., Bobby Mobley, Anthony Skeen, Chad Ferrell and Jerry Ferrell as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Murray Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Collins passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at her home. She was born on July 21, 1936 in Emblem community, the daughter of Arvil and Louise (Story) Smith. She married Jack Fairchild and then Dub Collins, both preceded her in death. Wanda was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, an avid songwriter and retired from the First Baptist Church “Childcare” in Sulphur Springs.
She is survived by her daughters, Angela Hodges, June Robinson and husband Randy of Wylie, Susan Hines and husband Stan of Richland Hills, Patsy Collins Neal and husband Gene, Thresa Collins Stapleton and husband Don; sons, Timothy Nelson, Darrin Fairchild, Archie Collins and wife Diana; Brother, Ray Smith; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both spouses and daughter, Valerie Grogan.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
