17 high school teams will descend upon Sulphur Springs to take part in the annual Sulphur Springs Varsity Softball Tournament taking place Thursday through Saturday. Games will be played at renovated Lady Cat Park on the high school campus and at Coleman Park. A good rain Tuesday will provide a good test for Lady Cat Park’s new drainage system. Lady Cats Coach David Carrillo is confident the field will be ready. The Lady Cats will play five games in three days all at Lady Cat Park. On Thursday, they will play Gilmer at 10:45 a.m. and Royse City at 4 p.m. On Friday the Lady Cats play Mesquite Poteet at 1:30 p.m. and Fort Worth Christian at 3:15 p.m.
The Lady Cats face McKinney on Saturday at 11:45 a.m. Coach David Carrillo is excited about showing off the new Lady Cat Park with its new walls, scoreboard, field and dugouts.
