The Lady Cats’ softball team got off to a pretty good start scoring a run in the top of the first inning against Texas High in Texarkana Tuesday night. Then the Lady Tigers exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the first. The Lady Cats could only answer with a single run in the sixth inning and Texas High took a 7-2 win.
The Lady Tigers had 13 hits. The Lady Cats got 8 hits. Both teams committed an error.
Jaye Doughtie had two hits for the Lady Cats. Kristen Allen drove home a run. Allen also drew 2 walks and Brinklee Driver and Kelsey Wallace walked once each. Bailey Haggerty took the pitching loss going all six innings and getting one strikeout.
The Lady Cats are now 3-2 in district play and 16-6 for the season. The Lady Cats have an open date Friday. They will return to Lady Cat Park next Tuesday to face Mt. Pleasant in another key district game.
