Several workforce development classes in health occupations are being offered at the PJC-Sulphur Springs Center during the next several weeks.
The first course being made available through continuing education is a Basic Life Support class for health care providers. This course teaches lifesaving skills of respiratory and cardiac emergencies and will be offered on Thursday, April 27 from 4 to 9 p.m.
Anyone interested in becoming a Pharmacy Technician should sign up for this comprehensive course that prepares students to enter the pharmacy field and to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam. The class will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. from May 15 through July 12.
A Nurse Aide class will be offered from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays from May 30 through June 16. The class offers preparation for entry level nursing assistants.
A Medication Aide course is being offered to instruct in the preparation and administration of designated medications by non-licensed Nursing personnel employed in licensed health care agencies, including the responsibilities associated with such administration. Classes will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday through Thursday from June 26 through August 24.
