Wanted: Local Artists, Collectors and Vendors for Brick Street Vintage Market

Judy Heilman, owner of Gourmet Kitchen and Company, 213 Main St and Downtown Business Alliance President

The first-ever Brick Street Vintage Market was an idea of downtown business owner Judy Heilman to bring shoppers to the Sulphur Springs downtown business and dining  district. As 2017 President of the Downtown Business Alliance, Judy brought it up at a meeting earlier this year and support was immediately mobilized. Now, many of the shops on Main and Connally Streets and even beyond downtown are helping spread the word on their windows and social media sources, inviting shoppers to the vintage market on Saturday Saturday September 16. Locals and visitors will be amazed at the array of vintage vendors and artisans plus all the wineries, galleries, antiques, boutiques, gourmet and specialty shops and restaurants in a half-block walking area of the square. The market will get an early start at 8 am, and will remain open  until 6 pm. The first 100 shoppers get a Brick Street Vintage Market shopping bag filled with discounts and goodies. If you would like to be a vendor at the juried event, contact any member of the DBA or Judy at Gourmet Kitchen and Company, 213 Main Street, for an application form. Cost is $25 for a booth space. Shopping should be brisk because of the annual Quilt Show and other attractions going on downtown that weekend. Already, about three dozen vendors have signed up, and a limited number of spaces remain. Phone 903-885-9700 for details.
