The Regional Track Meet at Maverick Stadium at UT Arlington got underway Friday morning (April 27) and a Lady Cat has already qualified for the State Track Meet.
In competition early Friday morning, Imani Taylor finished second in the long jump to qualify for state. Taylor will also be competing in the triple jump later in the Regional Tournament. She will also be a part of the Lady Cats 4 X 100-meter relay team with Sadavia Porter, N’sya Dugan and Abbi Baier. Freshman Bre’asia Ivery is an alternate for the relay team. Porter will also running in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. Baier will also compete in the 100-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles.
The Wildcats have four athletes to the Regional Track Meet. Dedric Godbolt is competing in the high jump. Eli Sellers will be in the 800-meter run. Kylan Wade is in the 110-meter hurdles. Landry Tyson is in the 300-meter hurdles.
The Regional Track Meet runs through Saturday.
