Homecoming week for North Hopkins IDS will be January 22nd – 25th. In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, there will be a teacher in-service day on Monday, January 21st.
During the week there will be many festivities including spirit dress up days. The dress schedule is as follows:
Tuesday- Movie Character Day, students are encouraged to take on the persona of one of their favorite movie characters.
Wednesday- Iconic Duo Day, students will pair up to dress as an iconic duo.
Thursday- Color War Day, North Hopkins Elementary students will dress in designated “house colors.” Secondary school students have been assigned colors by grade level.
7th grade- purple
8th grade- green
9th grade-orange
10th grade- blue
11th grade- white
12th grade- black
Through out the week students will be competing by grade level to see which class has the most spirit. Students who participate in the spirit dress up days will be counted accordingly each day with the percentage taken by class size. On Thursday students are encouraged to wear as much of their color as possible. Each color item will count as one point, pair such as socks and earrings will count as one as well. The grade with the most participation at the end of the week will be treated to a movie day.
The homecoming games will begin at 4:30pm, starting with the JV boys game followed by the varsity girls and then the varsity boys game. Homecoming court ceremony will follow the varsity boys game.
