Funeral service for Jack Belton Simmons, age 75, of Van, will be held Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, 2:00 pm, at Freedom Church of God. Bro. Kenneth Ishmeal, and Bro. David Hamm will officiate. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time, at the church, on Friday.
Mr. Simmons died at his residence, in Van, on Monday evening, Dec. 29, 2014. He was born, Oct. 10, 1939, in Hail Center, to John Belton and Dove Mae Stapp Simmons. He served his country by joining the U.S. Army at an early age. Mr. Simmons married Janeene Arlene Lowry, in Mesquite, on March 26, 1976.
Survivors include: Wife: Janeene Simmons of Van, 3 Daughters: Chantal Jackie (Simmons) Davlin of Emory; Lisa Arlene Perry of Mesquite; and Susan Lee Davlin (Gean) of Shady Point, OK, 1 Sister: Billie Faye Howard of Sherman, Grandchildren: Donald Mitchell III; Johathan Mitchell; Nicole Davlin; Jessica Day; Caden Perry; Dylon Davlin; Tyler Davlin, and Rachel Davlin.
Preceded in death by: Parents; 1 Daughter, Daniele Simmons; and 1 sister, Betty Avery
