In addition to designing and creating their own handiwork, individual members of the Lone Star Heritage Quilt Guild meet monthly and work year round in planning for the popular annual Quilt Show. In recent years The ROC has become the perfect home for the show. There’s ample space for hanging the quilts in their entire size by category, so that browsers can see the patterns, colors and stitches that make up these durable works of art. Show-goers can even vote for their favorite quilts in the ‘People’s Choice’ category. 2019 Quilt Show Chair is Marti Rajotte. Contact her at 903-235-5700 or sulphurspringsquiltstx.com.
To further accommodate visitors during the Quilt Show weekend, the Downtown Business Alliance is planning a ‘Brick Street Market’ on Saturday September 20 which will draw visitors to the downtown area’s many eateries and shops, most within walking distance. Local vendors of antique and repurposed goods are invited to reserve a street booth and join the fun. (for Brick Street vendor space, contact sulphurspringsdba.com)
