Tom Sellers was recently named President of the National Board of the Texas Tech Alumni Association. Sellers said he was honored and humbled. Sellers was elected to the 30-member board six years ago. Mitchell Chapel Church of God in Christ at 402 South Jackson in Sulphur Springs will have its’ annual Rescue The Perishing food distribution beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Food baskets for those in need will be available until all of them are gone. Church pastor the Reverend Nelson Gatlin calls the effort a hand up and not a hand out.
