Bright Star Baseball League for Children Meets with City Council
At a regular meeting of the Sulphur Springs City Council Tuesday at 7 p.m. in City Hall, Veronica Yost with the Bright Star Baseball League for children with special needs will make a presentation about a proposed Bright Star League Baseball Field. The council is also expected to consider an ordinance for issuance and sale of certificates of obligation for a variety of projects.

The board is expected to review and comment on an environmental assessment for Texas Parks and Wildlife that has applied to TCEQ for renewal of a Water Quality Permit to authorize discharge of treated wastewater from the city plant directly to Cooper Lake.

At the last meeting of the Sulphur Springs City Council, the council voted to add $66,000 to the proposed budget to address some of consultant Roger Brooks’ branding ideas. City Manager Marc Maxwell says the funds will be used for wayfinding signs to direct people from the Interstate or from hotels to downtown.
