Amateur radio will be showcased during a Field Day, slated from 1 p.m. Saturday, June 26 to 1 p.m. Sunday, June 27, at Rains County Emergency Operations Center. This event is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend. Although hosted by Rains Amateur Radio Association of Emory, the event is one of many being hosted nationally. Wildcat football season tickets will be sold online this year, a June 17 release from Sulphur Springs ISD superintendent’s office stated. Individuals who were season ticket holders in 2019 will be contacted first via email (or by letter if the school has no email on file) with instructions on how to secure season tickets in the next week or so. Dinner Bell Volunteers and Helpers Still Going Strong

Dinner bell is a weekly free community meal provided with community support through the First United Methodist Church of Sulphur Springs, TX. A coalition of faiths and other organizations contribute to the event. Pre COVID, Dinner Bell served meals in person at the FUMC. Now participants simply drive or walk up to claim their meals. Trustee from the Hopkins County Jail relish the opportunity to serve at the weekly event. Missionaries from the Church of Latter Day Saints also do their part.
