Lady Cats Basketball Team Takes Silver Bracket Consolation Game at Bells Tournament Saturday

The Lady Cats Basketball Team won a defensive struggle, 32-22 Saturday (November 16) over Whitesboro to capture the Silver Bracket Consolation Final Game at the Bells Invitational Tournament. Points were hard to come by, especially during the first three quarters. The Lady Cats led the Lady Bearcats, 5-3 after the first quarter, 9-5 at the half and 17-10 after three quarters. The Lady Cats Basketball Team lost a close game Friday (November 15) in the Silver Bracket of the Bells Invitational Tournament to Aubrey, 39-35. The game was tied 30-30 with just less than five minutes left to play. The Lady Chaps hit some key free throws down the stretch to eke out the win. The Lady Hornets earned the trip with 3-0 win over Sulphur Bluff in a Regional Quarterfinal match in the Main Gym at Sulphur Springs High School Tuesday night (November 12). The Lady Cats Basketball Team won their first game of the season in dramatic fashion as Lady Cat Nylah Lindley rebounded a missed shot and hit a follow shot that just beat the buzzer to give the Lady Cats a 58-57 win over Cooper in a Bells Invitational Tournament game Thursday (November 14). Fundraisers have been announced to help Patti Alberts. A GoFundMe account has been set up to benefit the Alberts family of Sulphur Bluff. The Alberts family suffered a devastating loss. Not only was the family home destroyed by fire on Tuesday, Nov. 12, but Rick Alberts perished in the blaze as well, according to local officials. Wildcats Basketball Coach Clark Cipoletta said the Wildcats played much better at a scrimmage Tuesday night (November 12) than they did on Saturday.
